Any book your teen is interested in is a good book for your teen to read barring what you don’t want them to read. However, it can be quite challenging if your child doesn’t take the initiative to read. Therefore, you will have to do research to get them to read such as find out what they are interested in, look for a book series and discuss current events.
Find out what your teen is interested in
There are many types of books for teens to read. Depending on their maturity or what you are willing to allow them to read they can even read adult books. If your teen is not expressing interests in any book in particular, I would start with a popular teen book series such as The Paper Magic Trilogy Series, The Hunger Games Trilogy Series or even the To Kill Mockingbird Series which is a classic.
The Paper Magic Series follows Ceony as she gets her first job as a paper magician. It follows her through her apprenticeship and adventures of fighting evil forces.
The Hunger Games is a three book series which has been made into a movie. It follows its main character, Katniss, through her challenges in life and as she competes in the Hunger Games.
I recommend book series because if your child reads the first book in the series and likes it, then your teen will be more apt to continue reading the other books in the series which is the point — to get your teen to read.
